Dans un documentaire animalier, je fus dans une consternation profonde d'apprendre que les trois quart des espèces animales terrestres sont volantes. Quelle ingratitude pour nous....
Pourtant la notion de voler est très certainement ancrée dans l'imaginaire de l'homme.
Depuis que l'homme rêve, il rêve qu'il vole.

Le Mythe d'Icare est l'allégorie la plus connue de ce qui est devenu chez certain une obsession : s'élever dans les airs. Léonard de Vinci, les frères Mongolfier, Lilienthal, Blériot,et j'en oublie.
Tous avait la passion, l'envie d'aller plus haut, plus loin : de voler.

In a documentary animalier, I was in a major consternation to learn that the three quarter of the
terrestrial animal species are flying. Which ingratitude for us...
However the notion to fly doubtless is anchored in the imaginary one of the man. Since the man dreams, it dreams that it flies.

The Myth of Icare is the most known allegory of what became at certain an obsession: to rise in the airs. Léonard de Vinci, the Mongolfier brothers, Lilienthal, Blériot, and I forget some. All had passion, the desire for going higher, further: to fly.

 C'est grâce à tous ces gens que l'aviation en est arrivée à ce merveilleux moyen de transport.

Le parapente est né en France, à Mieussy en Haute-Savoie. Un groupe de parachutiste a eu l'idée d'utiliser les pentes raides en montagne afin de pouvoir sauter et travailler leurs précisions d'atterrissage à moindre frais : le kérosène des avions coûte cher. Dans le même temps, des montagnards terriblement audacieux ont utilisé ces engins primitifs pour ne pas descendre à pied les sommets qu'ils venaient de gravir. L'idée com-
mencait à faire son chemin. C'est au milieu des années 1980 que l'on commença à essayer de rester en l'air le plus longtemps possible.

 It is thanks to all these people that aviation arrived from there at these marvellous means of transport.

The parapente was born in France, in Mieussy in Haute-Savoie. A group of parachutist had the idea to
use the stiff slopes in mountain in order to be able to jump and work their precise details of landing to less expenses: the kerosene of the planes is expensive. In same time, terribly daring mountain
dwellers used these primitive machines not to descend to foot the nodes which they had just climbed.
The idea commencait to make its path. It is in the middle of the years 1980 that one started to try to remain in the air longest possible.

 Les ailes de parachute sont modifiées pour s'adapter au nouveau jeu qui est la durée de vol, c'est la naissance du parapente (1986) tel qu'on le connait aujourd'hui. Jeune activité, les performances du matériel progressent chaque année ouvrant de nouvelles possibilités de durée de vol et de distance.

C'est en 1987 que la connaissance de l'existence de cette activité aérienne m'arrive dans le plat pays qu'est le nord. Trop de souvenirs enivrants du parachutisme me pousse à savoir où je pourrais apprendre à devenir un enfant d'Icare.

 The wings of parachute are modified to adapt to the new play which is the duration of flight, it is the birth of the parapente (1986) such as one connait it today. Young activity, the performances of the hardware progress each year opening of new possibilities of duration of flight and distance.

It is in 1987 that the knowledge of the existence of this flying activity arrives to me in lowland that is north. Too many memories enivrants of the parachuting push me with knowing where I could learn how to become a child of Icare.

 C'est après un stage et mon premier vol que j'acquière ma première voile, et depuis, je ne me lasse pas de communiquer à qui veut, cette passion du vol libre. Maintenant, que je suis moniteur brevet d'Etat, j'ai le plaisir de partager et de transmettre mes connaissances.
